I tried really hard to make this piece perfect. I wanted to make sure that it was undoubtedly finished in my head. Perfect colours, perfect amount of strokes, and everything just right. But the more I looked at it, the more I realised that the perfection of the piece was in the fact that it wasn't perfect.

I had Metric's Formentera II playing in the background, and the track Nothing is Perfect became my favourite. With my changing mindset on perfection, the lyrics of that song took on a different meaning.

Nothing is perfect, but at the same time, nothing in itself is perfect. The perfect piece becomes perfect because of its imperfection. And as with the song, it is up to you to decide if it is perfect because...

...nothing is perfect.
